FIFA to interview 25 Caribbean football association heads in bribery scandal
FIFA has summoned 25 Caribbean football association chiefs to attend an interview in the light of allegations that they were offered a $40,000 bribe by FIFA vice-president Jack Warner and AFC supremo Mohamed Bin Hammam.
Both Bin Hammam and Warner have been accused of offering the cash sum in exchange for votes for the former in the FIFA presidential elections, prior to Bin Hammam's withdrawal from the candidacy.
The interviews are to take place in Miami from July 7-9, and representatives of world football's governing body will be joined by officials from Freeh Group International Europe, the firm which will investigate the claims of bribery within the organization.
Both Warner and Bin Hammam have been suspended until the inquiries are completed, but both continue to plead their innocence.
