Iron Man 2 - Yay Or Nay?

Oh the hype! Sometimes you think your heart will fail with all the hype, ads and trailers not to mention those  unsolicited opinions from friends who can’t stop with the rave reviews. Logically, since ‘you can’t knock it till you try it’ I had to get in the melee, and hustle off to see it. Since, as Chris for one will tell you (whether you ask him or not) “I’m too harsh a critic because I have to write about it”; I ignored the need to arch eyebrows in exasperation and instead chased bystanders along the walkway until I found some willing to go on record. They thought:

Jaime, Claxton Bay: The first one was better. Period. In part 2 too many scenes were unrealistic, that’s saying a lot even for Iron Man. Example, that racing incident, and then where he swooped in and picked up Pepper ‘just in the nick of time’ from that explosion. I rate it a 7 out of 10.

Kershell, Arouca: I find it was a great movie in terms of electronics and gadgets butnot really so much action. It’s a bit over-rated. And well the first movie (Iron Man 1) was good also. That one had a lot of action especially when he was making the suit and in the end when he was fighting his business partner. Mostly with series it’s hard to top the first one but sometimes they do ok. The best scene in part 2 was the early scene on the race track. When one of his suits was a briefcase I think and the part when he was fighting the war machine in his house was entertaining also. Nothing really disappointed in the movie for me, good stuff. Will give it a 7 out of 10 or 8 out of 10.
