Sexy Songstress and Ladies man for Mother’s day concert
Mother’s Day: one day filled with excitement and surprises as we honour the woman who gave us life and nurtured us from birth. Often times we forget to show her how special she is and how much she truly means to us but why not start on Mother’s Day? Better yet, the day before?
Tropix Entertainment in collaboration with Bmobile presents ‘Unconditional Love’ featuring Toni Braxton and James Ingram. Paul Richards, spokesperson for the event, said that it was time for Toni Braxton to be brought to Trinidad.
“She’s a great performer and she was available; plus she has never been here before. She has been to Jamaica but never to Trinidad” said Richards.
He said that she has a huge fan base in Trinidad and that adding James Ingram to the cast gives more value to the concert. Also added to the cast are local performers Kay Alleyne and The Alternative Quartet who are excellent performers and who are expected to bring their own identity to the concert. He said that the country’s post-carnival events have been lacking in quality and this concert brings forward a high quality event. “There’s always a concert for Mother’s Day and we were looking to have a concert that not just mothers but wives and girlfriends will be able to enjoy. Adding James Ingram to the cast gives more value for your money, Toni is good by herself but with James it’s even better” he said. Held at the new Concourse at the Queens Park Savannah, Richards added that it is a safe environment where all can come out. He added “the show is paying tribute to all women in society.”
Toni Braxton is a multi-Grammy award winner who first started singing in her church choir at a very young age. While pumping gas and singing to herself at a local gas station, she was discovered and she and her four sisters formed a group called The Braxton’s. What really spawned her solo career was the single ‘Love Shoulda Brought You Home’; a song that was originally written for Anita Baker. L.A Reid and Babyface saw her talent and immediately got her signed to LaFace Records where she recorded her self-titled debut album ‘Toni Braxton’. That first album gave her the first three Grammy Awards of her career, after which she released other successful albums such as her best-seller album ‘Secrets’ and ‘Heat’.
