Nebula 868 Parts Ways With ‘D Project’ Records

Nebula 869 has cited “different directions” as their reason for parting ways with their former management team, Daryl Braxton’s “D Project” Records. The local hip hop group has split with their former label and, although calls made to Sean and Wong Nebula’s phone went unanswered, they cited a Mr. Jason Andrews, who will act as the group’s agent until further notice.

Nothing is clear on the split, but one thing is certain, something has gone wrong in paradise. Darryl Braxton, Chief Executive officer (C.E.O) of D Project Records and the group’s former manager was not available for comment but Nebula 868 insists via press release that it was a business decision that they did not take lightly. The guys sought however, to thank Mr. Braxton for all the efforts, guidance and opportunities that he has brought their way. They guaranteed a continued quality in the level of their music and assured the fans that they have always had creative control of their Nebulan sound. They also thanked the rest of the D Project records team, which included Terri Lyons, Judah Bharath and Anokha. Not officially naming any new management team, the group extended special thanks to Precision Production, London Future and Track 7, saying that they will make history together as they continue to grow and create music together.

Nebula 868 is a local group who sings a range of different genres of music by putting their own ‘Trini’ twist to it. The group gained popularity with its two main hits ‘Rolling in a Sunny’ and ‘Kings of the City’ which became successful; with ‘King of the City’s popularity forcing the brothers to release a video for the song. Their appearance at the ‘Localize it’ concert starring Trinidadian-born international hip-hop icon Nicki Minaj, generated a new found popularity for the guys and they even had plans to go abroad to continue recording. Recently, the guys released their first album ‘1962’ and all the songs are available on ITunes and ready to be downloaded.

With a split from their previous management team, let’s hope the guys can continue producing hits and keep the local flow in their music..
