Chromatics In Transition
Top local Hip- Hop artist Chromatics is forcing local hip-hop mainstream with his Transition Tour.
Since hit album Against the Grain in 2007 Chromatics has made his mark on local and regional hip-hop music. Through his Transition Tour he hopes to help other artists make an impression and get local Hip Hop in the minds and hearts of as many listeners as possible.
According to Matics, this Transition tour “attempts to display the passion and determination required for an artiste from Trinidad to make waves in the local, regional and International hip-hop arenas.”
The event is uniquely blended to showcase the transition of Chromatics as an artiste, give new artists ample opportunity to perform and mix these two with party joggling from DJ's Jus Jase and X-caliber Disco. With his live band behind him Chromatics promises a real show every time.
This is not to be confused with a ‘rap party’ but all patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional party DJ juggling with dance hall, hip hop, neo soul and other genres all showcased at the event.
Chromatics explained that the tour consists of three concert dates, and at each one a different Highway records artiste will open. “Sharing the spotlight and working together with other local artiste and soundmen” he said, “will hopefully inspire other youths to pursue their goals. All can learn and be inspired by the Transition that”
This tour is not the only effort Chromatics is making to force Hip Hop mainstream.
Referring to his two new releases this year; “Hitmaker” and “Cold Blooded” Chromatics said “the two songs were recorded to fit into his goal of bringing his Highway Records artiste on a different stage. Hit maker specifically is a club song; done to get the ball rolling and demonstrate that right here in Trinidad we produce music on the next level.”
